Long Service Award to James Strachan, Huntly

George Taylor, Assistant Conservator, East Scotland is handing over Long Service Certificate to James Strachan marking 41 years service in the Bin and Huntly Forests. Looking on is Chief Forester Davy Anderson in charge of the then amalgamated Huntly Forest.

James started working in the Bin Forest in 1935 and was promoted to ganger in 1962. He spent almost all of his working life in the Bin seeing it at the planting stage and in turn saw some of the areas he planted, thinned and felled.
