Garden Work at Glentress Forester Training School
The images are courtesy of Shona Marshall daughter of Alex Grossert.
The photographs, located only lately in a small album, have very little detail other than location.
So far this is the only image of any garden or garden work at Glentress which was located on the slope below the huts. The trellis work and more extensive signs of paths perhaps point to a larger area worked previously possibly in its days as a work training camp for the unemployed and later as a prisoner of war camp. Note that some of the tall boundary posts appear to have angled top sections – perhaps a hint at earlier wartime functions.
Note the photograph has problem with exposure and the 'snow' may not be sunlit highlights.
