Glossary of Forestry Terms
This document was part of a collection passed to Forestry Memories from a storage shed in Newton Nursery used by Forest Research.
The list of terms was compiled by Rena Tarwinska who appears to have been on the staff as a training officer at Ae Management Training Centre during the early 1990s. As Rena states at the beginning, many field forest staff who pass through the Centre have had no formal forestry qualification and this document was an aid to help them deal with technical terms and jargon.
As an aside Rena was possibly one of the first female forester supervisors employed by the Forestry Commission but perhaps there were earlier ones?
