Forestry Commission Form S10 – Loss of Stores, Produce etc
This document pad was part of a collection passed to Forestry Memories from a storage shed in Newton Nursery used by Forest Research.
A total of 500 pads were printed in 1955 and probably lasted many years without a reprint. It was certainly a long enduring document and ensured a sinking heart if following some loss it had to be located and carefully filled (in triplicate) before passing up the line for comments and judgement.
The form was used for everything, lost tools (if the forester could not produce even broken versions at stock take time – broken version often had a very long life!), burnt forest areas, stolen machines, buildings demolished by gales, vehicles written off and so on.
The extreme bottom of the form is shown in the PDF link below.
