Forest Research Experimental plots in Laiken Forest – Aldearn

This map was part of a collection passed to Forestry Memories from a storage shed in Newton Nursery used by Forest Research.

This map from around 1966 (date and initials on bottom right) shows plots in some of the Forestry Commission areas at Laiken Forest. Limited amount of detail but the boundaries of Russell’s Wood, Knockoudie Wood and two other areas are demarked. The outlines of Experiment 1P 53 and 2P54 (1953/1954) are shown.
