A document from Moray and Nairn Family History Society detailing the marriages between the Canadian Army Forestry Corps personnel and local women gives some indication of the substantial amount of interaction between the Forestry Corps personnel and the local people. The Canadians participated in a great many social and sporting events thus were well known and generally well received in the localities. The Canadian Forestry Corps 107th and 120th Companies arrived in November 1916 but other Companies are mentioned in the marriage lists. The record shows that the first marriages took place in January 1917.
