Clashindarroch Forest manual tree felling (Aberdeenshire)
Images are courtesy of Derek Dean of Huntly, Aberdeenshire.
SJM Harvesting team manually felled about 300 large trees on the Clashindarroch Forest site which were oversize for the local Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) harvester operated by Calum Skinner. Calum on the John Deere 1270G can be seen in the far back ground.
The trees once manually felled had two logs taken off the end and were then left for the harvester to process the remainder. The Tigercat 630B was used to assist with loading any large logs and anchoring any trees.
The PDF link below this text box shows team members kitting up for the day and include Steven Mair, Kenny Mair, Derek Mair and Derek Dean.
