Long oak tree stem from Innes House in Elgin
The long and straight bole of the oak tree was recovered as a whole by Steven Mair and his team. See here prior to being loaded onto a lorry and sent down south to a sawmill specialising in milling timber for oak furniture. The large log had to be loaded with Steven’s Tigercat 630B which was able to cope with the length and weight.
The attached PDF (link below this text box) shows another view of the log wnich is mounted on a wood trailer pulled by the Valtra tractor forwarder/skidder fitted with a Botex 560T crane.
