Timber Corps Women at Lochloy Forest
This photograph is courtesy of John Baillie, Garmouth who worked with these Timber Corps members around 1945. This photograph showing two women resting on a felled or windblown Scots pine at Loch Loy forest. Unfortunately their names are not remembered but they feature in other photographs of this series from John. The lady at the back is thought to have come from Glenlivet and the lady in front is very like No12 in the group photograph in Photograph No 286 on this web site.
Interesting to see that the front lady is wearing heavy blouse with rolled up sleeves, heavy trousers, calf length leather boots and strong gloves for protection against the rough and resinous conditions.
