Alexander (Sandy) Rose – Letter of recommendation from John Cameron
The image is courtesy of Michael Lawrence, Bankfoot, who is the grandson of Sandy Rose. This copy of the original was hand written by Sandy Rose.
This letter from John Cameron, Head Forester at Newton Nursery and perhaps some forest areas, details Sandy’s work and experience at the nursery since Jan 1932. This was the time when Sandy moved from Monaughty Forest to Newton. The identity of John Cameron has not been clarified but he could be the one formerly in charge of Inchnacardoch Forest. In subsequent letters of recommendation J D Robbie is in charge of Newton from 1937. On John Cameron’s retirement J D Robbie may have moved from Monaughty Forest to Newton.
This letter is dated two years earlier than the others - did Sandy get a letter of recommendation before John Cameron retired?
Any information on John Cameron would be very welcome
