Sandy Rose and work colleagues

The image and the details are courtesy of Michael Lawrence, Bankfoot, who is the grandson of Sandy Rose. There are no details with this image as it was found in Rose family collection. A hand written note on the back seems to indicate - A Rose - Alves - ? ’24 - but some details very unclear.

If this was 1924, Sandy (in the centre) would be aged around 19 and working with the Forestry Commission at Monaughty Forest (Heldon).

Any further details and names of the two colleagues would be very welcome.
