Group visit – unknown location and year - Morayshire?
The image and the details are courtesy of Michael Lawrence, Bankfoot, who is the grandson of Sandy Rose.
There are no details with this image as it was found in the Rose family collection. The style of cap tends to refer back to around 1925 – 1930 but perhaps a clothing style expert could narrow the period down. The location could well be in the area where Sandy Rose and his father worked around this time namely near Heldon Hill or Darnaway Estate. The number of boys in the group is unusual.
No individuals can be named but Michael believes that No 22 has a passing likeness to his grandfather Sandy Rose at this time.
No 26 has distinctive face and has a likeness to Fredrick Mitchell who was based at Culloden Forest from 1922 to 1934 and moved to Roseisle Forest thereafter.
Any names, suggestions and information would be very welcome. See large image link below.
