Ledmore or Strathord Forest work force at a new planting site
The images are courtesy of Michael Lawrence of Bankfoot whose grandfather, Sandy Rose, was Forester and Head Forester at Ledmore Forest Nursery from Nov 1949 (when land was acquired) until his retirement in 1969. In 1966 the nearby Strathord Forest was brought under his charge.
The location is not known and the year is an estimate. The team in their Trojan van TXT513 is either about to set off to walk to the actual working area or have just returned. The essential waterproofs are folded and slung over the top of the ‘piece bag’.
Again this is an extensive forest area and any suggestions of location would be very welcome. Can any of the men be named
