The image and details are courtesy of Alasdair Cameron, Black Isle, who writes:
‘I spotted this saw in a store at the Highland Folk Museum, Newtonmore. I was unable to find a name on it anywhere although there were some remains of a transfer on it. It is definitely a two person operation’.

The PDF below is of another view of the machine. Any suggestions of a manufacturer or a definite identification would be very welcome in the comments section.

My lord imagine the unlucky person holding that handle at the end of the blade they must have had a death wish. Comment left on 18 December 2022 at 16:26 by Leslie Phillip
This was actually a 1-man saw! You could hang on to the whole thing and crosscut or fell. For felling you swivel the carb through 90 deg. Notice how the fuel and oil fillers are also at 45 deg. Comment left on 18 December 2022 at 21:16 by Andrew
