Clear felling site on Stobhall Estate
The image is courtesy of Tam Anderson, Perth, who worked in forestry for many years.
Tam says:
“I worked on three estates in Scotland, Dunecht, Dupplin and Stobhall -so most of my work was in Forestry for 50 years starting in Dye’s sawmill in Kinross at the age of 15.
The man in the clear fell and having a wee laugh at dinner time is Jim Faichney who worked with me on Stobhall Estate.”
See PDF for a view if the felling site which has some Douglas fir and probably Sitka spruce trees. The Stihl saw has a seriously long blade and would have been difficult to use for chainsaw snedding but may have been used only for the felling?
Any comments very welcome
