Single roller bench sawmill at Wolfhill

Tam comments:
“The man that owned this one man sawmill was a Ted Carey who lived and worked his Sawmill in the small Perthshire village of Wolfhill for years. He was originally from Canada. I used to visit him for a blether and that’s when I took these photos so at a guess it was back in the 1980s”.
The view just shows the corner of a substantial frame on this sawbench. It appears that logs could be rolled from the bank on the left onto the movable bench.
The portable engine driven saw bench looks a bit like a Liner Sawbench used for cross cutting and ripping tree stems in the forest to make posts. The machine could also be used for pointing the posts. The double V belts are missing as well as other panels etc. Those may be the wheels lying against the newly sawn boards. What type of engine?
