Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother visiting forest nursery display
The images are courtesy of Michael Lawrence of Bankfoot whose grandfather, Sandy Rose, was Forester and Head Forester at Ledmore Forest Nursery from 1950 (when land was acquired) until his retirement in 1969.
The Queen Mother on a visit to the Royal Highland Show possibly in 1957 at Dundee but year and location is uncertain. Any confirmation would be welcome.
Sandy Rose on the left is explaining the layout with the model forest nursery buildings just visible in this view. Can any of the people accompanying the Queen Mother be named?
The PDF below has other views of the visiting event and in the back ground there are some large timber logs, some with sections cut out and labels added. Scots pine may be one of the species but others uncertain.
Any comments are very welcome.
