Ledmore twin blade root undercutter
The images are courtesy of Michael Lawrence of Bankfoot whose grandfather, Sandy Rose, was Forester and Head Forester at Ledmore Forest Nursery from 1950 (when land was acquired) until his retirement in 1969.
This apparently is the root undercutter with two angled blades designed by Sandy Rose to periodically undercut the roots of trees growing in the transplant lines. The aim was to supply trees to the forests with short fibrous root systems that took well to planting out in the field.
