Mr Bell's sketch of a Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) shoot and cones
Whilst sorting through a box of old 1960's Forestry Commission publications, I came across this delightful pen and ink botanical sketch of a Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) shoot and cones. Although not signed, the writing was similar in form and style to that of a name written on the cover of a publication, "Mr Bell". A scanned image of "Mr Bell's" handwriting is saved as a pdf, with this image.
If anybody is able to identify whom "Mr Bell" might be and his undoubted artistic abilities, please add a comment to this image. If you have other images drawn by the same man, we would be pleased to publish them here on Forestry Memories.
