Sandy Rose Attending the Royal Highland Show in Dundee
The images are courtesy of Michael Lawrence of Bankfoot whose grandfather, Sandy Rose, was Forester and Head Forester at Ledmore Forest Nursery from 1950 (when land was acquired) until his retirement in 1969. In 1966 the nearby Strathord Forest was brought under his charge.
Sandy had a long term connection with the Royal Highland Show and was responsible for organising an annual exhibition of forest nursery work. His team created a sizable nursery layout with model seed beds, hedges, fences and gates complete with live tree seedlings, model office and machines. Their work can be seen in Record No 1307.
