Tea break in lining out work at Ledmore Nursery
The images are courtesy of Michael Lawrence of Bankfoot whose grandfather, Sandy Rose, was Forester and Head Forester at Ledmore Forest Nursery from 1950 (when land was acquired) until his retirement in 1969. In 1966 the nearby Strathord Forest was brought under his charge. The year of the photograph is estimated to be around 1957.
The Thains feature again - Chalmers Thain Snr is wearing the bunnet, and the younger lady has her arms around Andrew Thain. Andrew emigrated to Australia with his brother Chalmers in the 1960s and died quite a few years ago. Chalmers (snr), their Dad, passed away in the 90s.
Many of the people have been named by Mike, his brother Sandy with help from some residents of Bankfoot.
