Photographs courtesy of Duncan Jamieson, Insch.

Duncan Jamieson operating a BTD 6 International tractor and forestry plough circa 1955 at Back o'Bennachie in Bennachie Forest. The outfit looks very new and has FC registration number 55-2528 which I believe would be the year 1955 and the 2528th item purchased or registered that year. The hill in front has some stones on top and could be Craigshannoch. The trees seen in the distance are possibly the remnants of earlier plantings by local landowners the best trees of which had been sold and felled following which the land was acquired by the Forestry Commission.

Duncan started the first ploughing in Bennachie (circa 1951) completing the Back o’Bennachie before moving around to the Esson’s Croft side.
