Summit Peak Precision tree seed sower
The image is from a photograph collection that was originally stored at Kincardine Forest District office at Durris and may have been taken by Sandy Sandilands.
The nursery location is unidentified but the tractor has a registration plate PSC659V and almost certainly a Forestry Commission location and after the year 1980.
The precision seed sower is shown without and with all the attachments and seed bins. It appears to be a complex piece of machinery designed to sow tree seed in lines at specific spacing.
Any comments on this machine and how effective it was in varying conditions would be very welcome. Can a location be identified?
See the PDF below for the other views of the seed sower.
