Lifting plants in Tulliallan Nursery
The image is from a photograph collection that was originally stored at Kincardine Forest District office at Durris and may have been taken by Sandy Sandilands.
From the follow on images it is thought that this is Tulliallan Nursery as the Forth Estuary can be seen and also by the presence of the heavy duty pylon lines leading to Longannet Power Station. The year is estimated to be around 1981.
ON this occasion the Z & B plant lifter is hitched to a Fiat 4x4 tractor as the team lift quite large spruce e transplants. The Massey Ferguson tractor is pulling a trailer onto which the transplants, bundled by the machine, are hand loaded.
See the follow on images in the PDF below. Any names of the people in the images would be very welcome.

'I can't name many of the people in the pictures but the chap in the brown coat and cap in the PDF of 5285 looks like David Gibb.
5285 Photo 1 was taken in the Redlands Field, photo 2 not sure, 3 is the Urn Field, 4 & 5 might be the Keir Heathland Nursery. Image numbers 5284 & 5286 are also of Tulliallan Nursery. Comment left on 04 January 2022 at 10:34 by Norman Davidson (Website Curator)
