Woodland Survey and Census 1918 – Loch Ness and Farigaig area
The maps were discovered in a loft in Fort Augustus forest office along with others in ex military maps cases.
The image shows two signatures on one of the 6 inch maps used in the 1918 woodland census and survey. In this case the map covers part of the Loch Ness area. Unusually some areas have been coloured in as well as being annotated. On this map there are no official Census stamps on the woodland areas as seemed to be the format on the few other maps discovered. Images elsewhere on this website.
Two surveyors appear to have used this map one covering the east side of Loch Ness and the other the west side.
Any comments and observations very welcome.
