West Coast of Scotland – Timber transport by sea event
The image is from a photograph collection that was originally stored at Kincardine Forest District.
This follow on image gives more visual information on the shipping vessels. The name of the fully loaded barge in ‘Pine Light’ and that of the tug vessel is ‘Flying Childers’. Apparently ‘Flying Childers’ came to grief on the rocks and sank somewhere on the west coast in 1995.
Any information on this particular operation, companies involved, tonnages shipped along with destinations would be very welcome. See images 5212 to 5214
