Husqvarna saw 263 CD – FC70730 – Circa 1976 – Who operated this saw?
The saw was privately purchased from a sale by a Forestry Commission Workshop either at Longman in Inverness or Balnacoul in Mosstodloch.
Records indicate that this model was first produced in 1975 and the fleet number FC70730 certainly goes back to around 1976. The saw could have come from any Forestry Commission forest north of a line Pitlochry and Fort William. The operator’s initials are inscribed as JH – can they be identified?
This was a fairly early anti-vibration saw which still seems effective. It does run but is very temperamental and starting again when warm is difficult. Hence it was put away for a while!
