Monaughty Forest timber extraction
The photographs are courtesy of Myra Younie, Clerical/Admin Officer at Laigh of Moray Forest and Moray Forest District, who maintained forestry photograph albums over several years.
Danny Younie on Massey Ferguson 35 kitted out for timber extraction with a small winch on the rear (powered by the PTO) and a set of chains on the two main wheels. Year was estimated as around 1955 but see comments below and now closer to 1965.
The winch could be a James Jones Highland 3000 that fitted onto the three point linkage – can anyone confirm?
The back ground seems to indicate quite a bit of windblow but may be later than the 1953 episode. Any suggestions?
This kit would work quite well in the dryer forest conditions of Morayshire.

It is good to get actual year sorted out as there were no other clues in the image. I have now noted the adjusted year of 1965 in the text. Many thanks.
