Monaughty Forest timber squad relaxing
The photographs are courtesy of Myra Younie, Clerical/Admin Officer at Laigh of Moray Forest and Moray Forest District, who maintained forestry photograph albums over several years.
A great image of some of the Monaughty Forest harvesting team relaxing in the summer sunshine. The actual year is uncertain but estimated to be in the mid 1950s.
The team have been named as follows from the left:
R Grant
Danny Younie
Jim Farquharson
J McLeod
Any more first names of the men would be very welcome.
Note the ex military service clothing (jacket and jersey) being used and was very commonly worn by farming and forestry workers. Many thousands of these garments were sold off at modest prices in Army and Navy stores located all over the country.
Any comments very welcome.
