Kirkhill Christmas Tree sales centre in action 1975
The image is from a collection of slides and photographs ‘rescued from the skip’ and handed to Forestry Memories. Generally very little information with or about them and for details we will have to rely on readers’ memories or geographical knowledge.
Lovely image of the Christmas Tree sales centre in action and in basically the same general layout as happens currently. Customers are checking the racks of different sizes trees and different species (Norway spruce and Scots pine?).
Note the two size versions of the tree funnel packer, the two workers at the one for quite small trees. A nice new looking Balnacoul Workshops style bench seat in the back ground.
Again another image in the PDF and can the workers be named? The Ford transit van (MGN641L) in the back ground has a large roof rack and is towing a trailer with some type of box on board. A lockable compartment for tools and fuel?
