Bert Legge with Challenger 33 Tracked tractor circa 1975
The image is from a collection of slides and photographs ‘rescued from the skip’ and handed to Forestry Memories. Generally very little information with or about them and for details we will have to rely on readers’ memories or geographical knowledge.
This is assumed to be in Morayshire somewhere but not certain. Bert Legge (originally from New Foundland) worked as a tractor driver for the Forestry Commission since the 1950s and may have operated this machine with Registration Number MGN685L. Not certain if he was the regular operator or standing in for Dod Irvine another heavy ploughing tractor driver.
