The photographs are courtesy of Myra Younie, Clerical/Admin Officer at Laigh of Moray Forest and Moray Forest District, who maintained forestry photograph albums over several years.
This course was held in Culloden Academy and admin representatives from most of the Forest Districts from Mull to Dornoch and as far east as Moray attended. Several courses were held at different locations to train all the staff.

Lovely image of the ladies enjoying the after training course get together in an Inverness or Culloden bar. From the left they are Mari Campbell from Mull Forest District, Donalda MacLean from Strontian Forest District and Sylvia Morrison from Wester Ross Forest District which included Skye.

Donalda worked in the Forest District Office located in Strontian which covered the former forests of Fiunary, Sunart and Glenhurich. Donalda is the daughter of Charlie and Sheila MacLean from a small township of Mingary close to Acharacle. Charlie was a long term forestry worker in Sunart Forest and the newly formed Forest District latterly as ganger. In the early 1970s and earlier he was very much part of a largely entirely Gaelic speaking squad probably among the last of such forestry squads on the Scottish mainland. Sheila was a very accomplished Gaelic singer and much in demand at local ceilidhs.
