Retirement of Winnie Watson – Forest Research Newton
The photograph is courtesy of Myra Younie who maintained a collection of Forestry Commission event and retirement photographs when she worked in the forestry offices in Morayshire. Note that LOM refers to Laigh of Moray forest Unit which included Culbin, Monaughty, Roseisle as well as Newton forestry areas.
An event to mark the retirement of Winnie Watson who worked as an Forest Clerk in the Forest Research unit at Newton. It seems that Winnie worked at Rosarie and also Tiendland Forests (before they were amalgamated into Speymouth Forest) and joined the Research Office at some time in the early 70s. In all, Winnie worked for 13 years with the Forestry Commission.
