Ford 7000 Highlander conversion at James Jones and Sons Larbert Workshop
The image is courtesy of David Leslie of James Jones and has been lying in the in-tray since he passed the image to here in 2013!
The tractor has been converted at the workshop into a halftrack version for more soft and rough ground capability. The registration Number is JJB266K. Does anyone recall working this machine?

Not this exact tractor, but as a contractor I bought a Ford 4000 with the same set up..no cab though...a potent machine of its day, mainly for working on wet ground in Lanarkshire. Lee and Carnwath Estates had a Ford 5000 with half tracks as well as the 4000 one we bought. When the ground was frozen you could do opposite locks to get through the gaps..even with the load of trees on the back...happy days
