New Planting at Barvas Moor Isle of Lewis

Royal Society for Protection of Birds staff Stuart Benn and Alison Rothwell inspect double mould board ploughing and lodgepole planting on deep peat close to the pool systems on Barvas Moor, Isle of Lewis.
Some of the ploughing and planting was on a naturally fairly well drained area but a substantial section of deep peat and an area of pool systems had also been included. Prospects for a forest here and forestry somewhat limited!
