A ditching operation on a fairly recently planted Economic Forestry Group site at Cuildochart near Killin. The operator was Stewart MacDonald of Thornhill and that the Hitachi UH031 excavator was believed to be operator owned.

Note the V shaped ditching bucket with extended side cutting ‘wings’ to create a smooth sided deeper drain. In some cases these side ‘wings’ were made from the very hard metal of used dozer blade lower edges.

Nice view across Loch Tay onto Ben Lawers and the National Nature Reserve owned by the National Trust Scotland.
