Tree Planting Machine trial - Aultmore Forest

One of the early tree planting machines on trial at the Shielmuir area of Aultmore Forest. Frank remembers it as coming from Finland as a trial and being imported by Chieftain Forge. The area of ground was fairly flat moorland with very short heather and was complete ploughed before the trial. The machine was apparently being heavily promoted by Mr Wolf who owned the tractor pulling the planter. The man operating the planter is Joe Moar from the Aultmore Forest squad.

Tractor is an early FORD 4000 (pre-Force) with Winsam cab.
