Burnt Forest ploughing near Rothbury, Northumberland

Andrew Allan (Callandar) had taken on a contract with the Forestry Commission to plough up a burnt plantation of Sitka spruce to enable it to be replanted.
Geordie comments: “Ploughing a burnt forest. Pretty rough in places.
Note the A-Frame and how it pushes dead trees out of the way. The A-Frame was to stop the trees getting between the tracks and the engine. Big boulder – some things do get in the way!”
