The AA team at Glascarnoch Native Woodland Scheme

The location is close to the Dingwall to Ullapool road at Glascarnoch hydro dam and features three of Andrew Allan’s D6 tractors with mounted tine ploughs operated by Ian Scorgie, Geordie Davidson and Willie Lorrimer. Ian’s tractor at the rear still has the fitments for its early life dozing role as does Willie’s in front.
Geordie recalls:
“This was the first broadleaf scheme we did. There were to be no straight lines - miss bits and do bits. It is not easy turning with a mounted plough in the ground – it is very sore on the brakes of the tractor. Willie Lorrimer would say to Ian Scorgie “where the hell are we going next?!” Broadleaf schemes are better done with diggers.”
The front view in the next image in the PDF below shows well the debogging slings attached, two tractors with front winches, extended tracks on the rear and middle tractors and the different cab designs.
