D7 and Double Tine plough on Black Hill near Evanton
The photos are courtesy of Geordie Davidson via Tom McLellan, Taynuilt.
D7 with Mounted Double Throw Plough, ploughing a restock site following the recent felling of its Lodgepole and Scots pine tree crop.
Geordie comments:
“The D7 was a slow running engine but had a lot of power. I also ploughed a lot of areas in Ardross. It was sometimes hard to stay in the seat as it was about 3 feet wide – no seat belts in these days!”
The PDF has another view of the plough in the full lift position and shows of the wide plough body with outspread mouldboards and packers. Note the mouldboard base feathers with narrow metal strips to hold them in place and perhaps reduce the wear and tear on the bottom of the plough body. One feather (left) appears to have sheared off or has worn completely down. This could be a D75/T90 plough.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me about the Cat D7 in the picture.
It has off set tracks.
I have purchased a D7 with offset tracks and the tractor in this picture has the same cab, which is very distinctive, with the 3 windows at the back.
If anybody has any more pictures of this machine I would very much like to hear from them.
