Glenlivet Forest name sign

These metal signs were used from very early days of the Forestry Commission (how early?) and fell out of use when the wooden ladder board signs were first became standard in the mid 1970s.
Will comments “The FC Glenlivet sign has the original (faded) green but the letters, crown, lion and borders have been painted several times. I note that in some of your other images the crown and lion are red but the ones on this sign have always, to my knowledge, been yellow.”
Perhaps someone will confirm years of use and colours?
When were they first used and who manufactured them?
Were they potentially made post WW2 by wartime manufacturers?
