This image and those in the attached PDF are a selection of newspaper clippings and reports from several New England States newspapers including, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine which mention people from these localities who are or were in Scotland with the New England Sawmill units 1917 to 1918.

The first mentions G Howard Reed or Happy Reed, then in the PDF John Henry Easter Brooks from Hartford sings the praises of the local Scottish people, James A Coyne from Maine who may have been a mill Foreman, report from Massachusetts which indicates that Charles Atwood was Foreman of Mill Unit No 1 accompanied by 12 men from the forestry department and in the last clip John E LaFlamme of Vermont arriving safely back home after a year away in Scotland.
