Post Card response to a bullet cartridge sent to Perth Museum
The notes are courtesy of Duncan Menzies, Banchory, who was stationed at Rannoch at the time.
Following the finding of a spent large cartridge in Rannoch Forest and sending it to the Perth Museum Duncan received the response featured. The bullet was a Snider 0.57 bore barrel most likely Snider-Enfield rifle and may have been used for deer shooting. That is a substantial piece of lead if it was flying your way!
Any details welcome.
