The young chap on the far right used to work for Scottish Forestry but I can't for the life of me remember his name. I am sure Will Anderson would know the name.

Ken Taylor has reminded me that the young chap on the right is John Sutherland, who worked out of the Scottish Woodlands office in Grantown, before moving to Laggan.

John Sutherland (now working as Head Forester at Corrour Estate) has kindly given me the names of the other young men in the photo:
"The photo certainly made me smile – taken 34 years ago I reckon, when I was obtaining work experience in Kincardine FD (Mearns) before going to the Scottish School of Forestry.
"The other young men in the photo are (left to right) Ritchie Saunders (on work experience like myself) and Steve (Stevie) Cant, squad leader and trainee forest ranger. I never actually worked with Angus, as he retired before I started and the occasion of the photo was, I think, the only time I met him.
"I haven’t seen Ritchie for many years and last heard that he was working for Dunecht Estate. Stevie took over from Jim Ogilvie as Mearns Forest Ranger and, as far as I know, is still working as a Forest Ranger in the Mearns." Comment left on 14 June 2022 at 14:47 by Douglas Clark
