Highland Show Demonstrations

The demonstration is obviously a fire protection barrier provided by an alginate and water mix and induced to foam by passing through the hose branch with a steel mesh basket insert. The system was usually mounted on a machine such as a Muskeg or all terrain vehicle that could transport the water and pumping equipment out onto the hill or at the very least out on hill tracks.
Duncan was District Forester Harvesting at Kincardine Forest District at this time and Peter White as a forester may have been working down in the Dunkeld area.
