Checking the transplant lines at Tulliallan Nursery
The photographs are courtesy of Will Anderson, Seafield and Strathspey Estates. Will worked for a period with the Forestry Commission in Tulliallan Nursery and surrounding forests.
The very cold reality of working on open windy rain soaked site in low temperatures and limited body movement to maintain body heat. Charles Philp may be checking the newly lined out plants to see if the young trees are all firm, verticle and not bunched together in the line. He is wearing what looks like the blue Transatlantic waterproof jacket issued about this time and of course the protective steel toed wellie boots.
The PDF below is of a wider view of the site and a squad of six men similarly checking the transplant lines
Any details very welcome.
