Gritting spreaders for seed beds in Tulliallan Nursery

The photographs are courtesy of Will Anderson, Seafield and Strathspey Estates. Will worked for a period with the Forestry Commission in Tulliallan Nursery and surrounding forests.

The trailers used to spread an even cover of grit over the newly sown seed beds. They have been adapted for attaching to three point linkage of Ferguson tractors. The wheels probably drove a revolving activator that ran through the base of the trailer above the exit slot allowing an even spread of grit over the seed bed.
