Felled tree stroke processor - Timberjack RW30

Date Added: 09 May 2020 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1975 Picture No: 4706

Photograph is courtesy of Jim Christie, Crook of Devon, a former senior mechanical engineer in the Forestry Commission.

This photograph is labelled as Timberjack RW30 second hand. It appears to be a stroke delimber with a registration number something like JTF414N but very hard to make out. The FC number is again difficult to see but may be 70052 or 3.

The machine is seen here working in pine trees and the observers look like Forestry Commission personnel all with their yellow safety hats. Unfortunately their backs are to the camera and identification is difficult but the man on the extreme left looks a bit like Bob McIntosh.

The history or origin of this machine is not to hand but must have come from Canada/USA at one point the base for Timberjack and it seems the brand colours were a reddish orange. This was well before Timberjack was acquired by the Finnish group FMG around 1993.
