BEAS Helicopter Fertilising operations
Photograph is courtesy of Jim Christie, Crook of Devon, a former senior mechanical engineer in the Forestry Commission.
The actual year and location are unknown but thought to be about 1973 and somewhere in west Scotland going by landscape. Does anyone recognise the area?
The Lama helicopter may be registration number G-AZNI used by BEAS on many occasions. It is certainly operating close to the telephone wires but the road ends just beyond them and fertiliser was unloaded at the very end. It may well be the loading crew (students?) standing around the soft top land rovers in the days before the big bag fertiliser and mechanical loading was normal.
