Autair Helicopter in Cairnbaan Camp
The image is courtesy of Janet Quarton who worked at the camp during this period.
The Autair Bell helicopter Reg No G- ASOL with fertiliser side panniers parking for a period on the camp children’s football field. This must have been one of the very early trials of fertiliser spreading (unground rock phosphate) in Scotland. There appears to be a lady in the cockpit with the pilot.
This is another view of the helicopter parked in the Camp and being admired by the children of some of the camp residents.
There are some more people in line directly behind the main rotor shaft of the helicopter.
Can any of these children be named?
Note also the bright pink house above the children (Building F) once occupied by the Kiel family.
